The trial which is held in the court of Milan and which sees the Lega secretary Matteo Salvini accused of "aggravated defamation" against Carola Rackete has been suspended .

That is, the former commander of the ship "Sea Watch 3" who in 2019, when Salvini was Minister of the Interior, violated the blockade imposed by the Interior Ministry to bring about forty migrants in need of assistance ashore to Lampedusa .

Judge Maria Burza has in fact accepted one of the preliminary questions advanced by Salvini's lawyer, Claudia Eccher , transmitting the documents to the Senate.

The question that Palazzo Madama will have to evaluate is whether the statements made via social media by the politician between June and July 2019, considered defamatory by Rackete, are or are not covered by the unquestionable nature of his role as senator .
