The Court of Rome has ordered, as part of the evidentiary incident, an expert opinion to ascertain the causes of the death of the journalist Andrea Purgatori who died in July 2023.

In the ongoing proceedings four doctors are under investigation for manslaughter : Maria Chiara Colaiacomo, Gianfranco Gualdi, Claudio Di Biasi and Guido Laudani.

The experts have 90 days to complete their investigations. They must clarify the presence of metastases and identify how and when the cardiac infection started .

At the origin of the file is the complaint presented by the journalist's family to clarify what caused Purgatori's death in a few weeks and whether there were errors in the diagnosis and in the treatments subsequently carried out .
