An arrest and seizure of a total sum of over 3.5 million euros against 6 suspects , as a profit from a fraud against the state budget in the sector of building bonuses .

It is the balance sheet of an operation by the Guardia di Finanza of Modica which has been called "Easy credit".

According to what was reconstructed by the financiers, a Modican businessman, currently in prison, would have "cleverly and fictitiously created", in agreement with five other people residing between Lombardy and Puglia, over 3.5 million euros of false tax credits relating to the expenses incurred for building interventions assisted by the subsidy scheme of the 'Sisma Bonus', which never actually occurred.

As part of the investigations, it emerged that the five would have falsely attested to having received a series of building renovations due to seismic risk, on properties that have never been available to them, by a company attributable to the Modica entrepreneur, formally operating in the residential building construction sector.

The company belonging to the suspect, which in fact turned out to be a mere paper mill , purchased the tax credits generated by the fictitious works through the option of the "discount on invoice".

At the outcome of the verifications, the properties used for inclusion in the communications sent to the Revenue Agency by the suspects were found to be owned by other natural persons unaware of these operations.
