"The disturbance was strong, the worry was not."

The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella comments with these words the violent clashes on Saturday in Rome , with an assault on the CGIL and an attack on the emergency room of the Policlinico I: "These were limited phenomena that aroused a very strong reaction of public opinion", he said on a visit to Berlin in response to a question from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

What happened in the capital had a strong echo in Germany, and the German president asked the head of state directly for an account.

THE INVESTIGATIONS - Meanwhile, investigations continue on the demonstration that led to the arrest of 12 people: at the request of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, the Postal Police notified a seizure order of the Forza Nuova website. The hypothesized offense is that of instigation to commit a crime aggravated by the use of IT or telematic tools. The activity of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office runs on two "levels". One concerns the organizers of the raid in the historic headquarters of the CGIL and the eventual direction of the scuffles which also occurred not far from Palazzo Chigi, the other on those who materially participated in the violence, with the launch of paper bombs, in which 38 members of the police were injured.

In the first investigation dossier, against Roberto Fiore and Giuliano Castellino of Forza Nuova, the former Nar Luigi Aronica, the activist Pamela Testa, the leader of the IoApro movement, Biagio Passaro and Salvatore Lubrano, crimes of incitement to crime are hypothesized, devastation and plunder. The hypothesis of criminal association is also not excluded. Under the scrutiny of the investigators, who aim to identify other demonstrators, there are videos and many photos depicting the suspects on the entrance staircase of the CGIL in Corso d'Italia and in one case even a video inside the structure made by Passaro in course of a live broadcast on social networks.

The second file concerns the other six arrested, to whom the crimes of resistance, injuries to a public official and aggravated injuries are contested in various ways. For two - Fabio Corradetti (son of Giuliano Castellino's partner) and Iorio Pilosio - custody in prison was confirmed. For the judges Corradetti must remain in prison for having had "a decisive role in the clashes that took place in the area of Palazzo Chigi" while Pilosio "admitted that he wanted to occupy the Parliament".

For the magistrates there are "serious indications of guilt and precautionary requirements due to the gravity of the disputed facts". For Maurizio Bortolucci and Valerio Pellegrino, the magistrates instead decided on house arrest; for Gennaro Imperatore the obligation to sign three times a week, while the ban on residence in Rome was ordered for the worker from Favara, in the province of Agrigento, Calogero Russello. The latter is accused of aggravated injuries for having thrown a shovel in the direction of some photographers and videomakers during the scuffles that took place in the area of Via del Corso.

AN AGENT COMPLAINTS - In the morning, however, a police officer spontaneously showed up at the police station after being immortalized in a video in which he hits a demonstrator on the ground during last Saturday's demonstration. The policeman will be reported to the judicial authority. A police officer turned out to be completely unrelated to the facts. The author of the post who "denounced" him was sued for defamation and slander.

THE MOTIONS - In the meantime, politics does not stand by with respect to the serious events of last weekend. With a motion, the Democratic Party called for the dissolution of Forza Nuova and "all the other formations that refer to fascism". The move also aims to uncover what Enrico Letta called "the ambiguous ties" of the right.

The sides formed on the fly. Iv presented one of his own along the same lines, as did Leu, whose motion was also signed by Liliana Segre. The M5s signed the motion of the Democratic Party, with Giuseppe Conte who specified: we must not "ignore the street protests, the legitimate and peaceful ones". The center-right leaders - Matteo Salvini, Giorgia Meloni and Silvio Berlusconi - presented a text that, explained the League, asks for "interventions against all subversive realities", because "it is not that the violence of the social centers is outdone" said Matteo Salvini.
