Mafia-type association, extortion, violations of laws on weapons and drugs and attempted murder. These are the charges for which 19 people, arrested by the carabinieri in the Neapolitan area, will have to answer for various reasons, during an operation coordinated by the DDA.

At the same time, the Guardia di Finanza of Naples seized eleven companies operating in the fuel and food sectors for an annual turnover estimated at approximately 16 million euros.

It is a question - the investigators explain - of a blow to the Ferrara-Cacciapuoti Camorra clan and its illicit interests.

During the investigation, the investigators also used telephone and environmental interceptions.

One, the investigators point out, would give an idea of the turnover of the criminal group. Francesco Ferrara, believed to be the top of the organization, is speaking on the phone.

"It's me, really, I went to Sardinia for a holiday once, it cost me 80-90 thousand euros, however, that year, I earned a million and a half," he says on the phone. Adding: «Only for the hotel I paid twenty-two thousand euros, just to sleep. I didn't do anything compared to what I earned, so now I'm bored."
