Burning in an apartment, 65 years old engulfed in flames

A 65-year-old woman died in the fire of her apartment in Battipaglia, in the province of Salerno. Giuseppina Alfinito had recently had a serious stroke and had no escape.

At that moment, neither her husband nor children were in the house, no one was able to help her: according to the investigators it was an accident and a year ago the victim had unintentionally set fire to a mattress with a cigarette butt. This time, however, the fire had dramatic consequences, also thanks to the wooden furniture in the house.

The building has for the moment been declared uninhabitable.
