Hero dog Bruno, a molecular bloodhound who had found nine missing people during his career and had also been awarded by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, was killed. It happened in the training center where he was, in Taranto.

The news was given by the deputy Michela Vittoria Brambilla who also announced the presentation of a formal complaint for the constitution of a civil party "if, as hoped, there will be a trial".

"A bait filled with nails - recalls Brambilla, Nm, president of the Parliamentary Intergroup for Animal Rights and of the Italian League for the Defense of Animals and the Environment - gave Bruno a horrible, long and painful death, due to internal bleeding, to him who had saved so many human lives . At the thought of such boundless cruelty , one should be ashamed of belonging to the human race. Probably whoever committed this heinous act did not do it out of blind cruelty, but with a precise purpose, because Bruno had contributed to the seizure of dogs used in fighting. All the more reason - continues the deputy - to identify the guilty party and apply the punishment provided for by the Brambilla law. We owe it to this noble animal, victim of an ignoble and wicked hand ".

"I ask the police to make every effort - he concludes - to ensure that the person responsible for the death of the dog Bruno is brought to justice and held accountable according to the new rules of the Brambilla law, which provides for anyone who kills an animal by using torture or deliberately prolonging its suffering up to 4 years in prison and a 60 thousand euro fine".

Prime Minister Meloni also remembers poor Bruno: "A heartbreaking piece of news, a vile, cowardly, unacceptable act. Thank you for everything you've done, Bruno."
