"How did my DNA end up on Yara's panties? I'd like to understand that too..." .
This is how Massimo Bossetti , sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of thirteen-year-old Yara Gambirasio, responds to Francesca Fagnani who interviewed and questioned him for the first episode of Belve Crime .
The man sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of the young girl from Brembate di Sopra, which occurred on November 26, fifteen years ago, has always declared himself innocent, even though the Court of Appeal and Cassation confirmed the sentence of the Bergamo Assize Court.
And he reiterated it last night: "I survive the injustice that I am forced to live. I feel the label of the monster on me, a tattoo printed on my head that I will carry until the end of my days. But I believe I am not a murderer ."
"The sentences - he added - must be respected, but they can also be questioned. I understand the pain of Yara's parents, but the justice they deserved has not been done . Not all avenues have been explored, Unknown 1 cannot be Massimo Bossetti . It's all absurd. I too would like to understand how my DNA ended up on Yara's panties. I have never seen that poor girl, I have never met her".
"How do you manage to resist?" asks the host. "The anger has transformed into strength and the strength is fueled by my family, who have never abandoned me. You go crazy, but you must not get caught up in the context."
Bossetti also spoke about the betrayals of his wife , who is very close to him today: "That is the deepest scar I have. I discovered it in prison and attempted suicide, they found me with my head in the sink and a belt around my neck . They took me to the infirmary and managed to save me."
