Blitz of the financiers at the port: seized 74 kg of cocaine hidden in a container of hazelnuts

Among the bags of hazelnuts there were 74kg of cocaine .

This is the balance of the operation carried out by the officials of the anti-fraud department of the Savona Customs Office and by the Guardia di Finanza who seized the drug in the port, hidden inside a container coming from Chile . The cocaine, packaged in 42 pats , has an estimated market value of around 4 million euros.

In 2022 alone, at the port basins of Savona and Vado Ligure, 544 import customs declarations and over 25,000 bills of lading were examined by the local Anti-Fraud Department of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, many of which for goods that had arrived on ships from South America, the main area of cultivation and first processing of cocaine.
