Dozens of searches, one arrest and 32 complaints, two in Sardinia.

This is the balance sheet of the operation against online child pornography , renamed "Luna" and conducted by the Postal Police , with the investigations that - starting from Friuli Venezia Giulia - have touched various regions of Italy, including Sardinia .

"The operation - explain the investigators - resulted from the complex analysis of the computer material seized from a citizen residing in the Province of Udine, arrested last year during another investigation and subsequently sentenced for detention, disclosure and production of child pornography material ".

The agents of the Friulian Postal Police asked for the collaboration of their Sardinian colleagues to carry out, a few days ago, searches inside the homes of the two suspects , accused like the others of detention, transfer and dissemination of child pornography material. At the end of the searches, computers, mobile phones and IT media on which the files were saved were seized.

"The specialists of the Postal Police - continue the investigators -, through sophisticated forensic analysis software , were able to reconstruct the vast network of contacts that exchanged numerous links with the arrested person containing images and videos reproducing acts of sexual exploitation to the detriment of minors, sometimes in exchange for images of underage girls that the subject had lured over time, focusing on the most fragile victims ".

A network that, as mentioned, touched different regions, namely: Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Tuscany, Lazio, Campania, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia .

"The research activities of the evidence - explains the Postal Police - have revealed the overall detention of thousands of files of a child pornography nature, depicting minors even under the age of 5, involved in violent sexual acts, duly cataloged by the staff who scrupulously proceeded to carry out the IT investigations on the spot during the searches ".

During the checks carried out on some suspects - among other things minors - software for anonymization on the net was detected, in addition to the creation of chats in which the boys proposed themselves as paid intermediaries for the distribution of child pornography material to the inside of protected cloud spaces.

"In other cases - the investigators conclude - the minors under investigation, although not interested in the direct use of the illicit material, had become protagonists of the dissemination of child pornography material in favor of interlocutors unknown to them, behind the reassurance of being repaid with prizes and gifts, demonstrating little awareness of the risks to which they exposed themselves and their personal data online ".
