Patient steals gun from security guard, sparking panic in emergency room

Moments of terror at the Apuana Hospital in Massa, where a psychiatric patient snatched a gun from an emergency room security guard and was subdued just before he could fire.

It happened last night when there were at least 20 people in the emergency department.

According to reports, the patient is a 34-year-old man who was due for a medical examination. When he stole the gun from the security guard, the paramedics were able to secure the patients and call the police.

In the meantime, the security guard and a colleague, who were there as patients, managed to neutralize the 34-year-old and take back the weapon.
