The man found hanged yesterday morning on the Trieste high speed train apparently committed suicide.

From the elements that have emerged so far, the Trieste Public Prosecutor's Office says, "in no way" have there been any indications indicative of a "death due to the work of third parties".

According to what we understand, he is an Iranian citizen, BK, born in Tehran in 1968, in Trieste without a fixed abode. Yesterday there was talk of signs of torture and burns, but upon closer analysis it seems that these are instead "post-mortem injuries, resulting from the physiological putrefactive phenomena that affected the corpse".

However, the conditions in which the body was found, blindfolded and with feet tied, remain a mystery.

The Prosecutor's Office specified that the bandage that covered most of the face was a short-sleeved shirt, rolled up ; another shirt instead blocked his hands, still leaving an opening of about 30 centimetres . The feet were instead blocked by duct tape.

Confirmed that death occurred 36-48 hours before the discovery.

Strengthening the thesis of suicide is the fact that on the body, among other papers, a certificate dated 10 September last was found which diagnosed an "anxious-depressive syndrome" and prescribed the need for a psychiatric examination . The certificate was issued by Donk-Humanitarian Medicine.
