The Milan Public Prosecutor's Office has requested house arrest for internationally renowned architects Stefano Boeri and Cino Zucchi , investigated for bid-rigging in the inquiry into the international design competition for the construction of the new BEIC, the European Library of Information and Culture, which should be built by 2026 in the Porta Vittoria area of the Lombardy capital.
The request, which also concerns a third person, was notified to the lawyers for the preliminary hearing that will take place on February 4th before the investigating judge, who will have to evaluate it.
"I am surprised and very upset ", Boeri's comment to the prosecutors' request. "I confidently await the meeting with the Judge for preliminary investigations - adds the star architect - in order to finally clarify my position" .
