The number of victims of the wave of bad weather that hit Tuscany has risen to seven, after the discovery of the body of a 69-year-old missing in Campi Bisenzio. And there are around 1200 preventive evacuations announced by governor Giani in Montemurlo, Montale and Prato while thousands of people are isolated and amphibious vehicles are needed to help them.

The toll of the wave of bad weather is very heavy, not only in terms of human lives, but also in terms of damage.

In Campi Bisenzio the local Sardinian club was also flooded and invaded by mud. And the Sardinian residents and the entire Tuscan population received the message of closeness from the governor Christian Solinas : «Full solidarity with the population of Tuscany, which in the last few hours has found itself in a state of emergency due to the floods», says the governor, expressing « deep condolences to the families of the victims and those missing. We are available to the Governor and local administrations to give our contribution."

"We are close to all the people brought to their knees by the flood", echoes the regional councilor for labor with responsibility for emigration, Ada Lai . He adds: «As the Department of Labor we are maintaining constant contact with the large community of Sardinian emigrants in Tuscany. We have already contacted FASI and the representatives of the six Tuscan clubs (Campi Bisenzio, Florence, Pisa, Elba Island, Siena) to start a survey of each location and offer our help. Currently, the Circolo di Campi Bisenzio, one of the areas most affected by the bad weather, is flooded and invaded by mud. We won't leave them alone ."

«The very serious situation that has hit Prato and the surrounding area up to Campi and Pistoia is decidedly more serious than one can imagine », we read on the Facebook page of the Circolo Sardo di Prato.

“Not only have homes suffered very serious damage, but also commercial activities, factories and agricultural companies,” the post continues. And again: «When walking along the streets one finds everywhere piles of objects devastated by water and mud of any kind, furniture, furnishings, clothes, furnishings, etc. We invite members and friends to report situations of discomfort and difficulty to us to raise awareness among the institutions to intervene more promptly. The Federation of Sardinian Clubs in Italy - concludes the post - is carefully following the ongoing drama, in particular the inconveniences suffered by fellow countrymen in the area".
