The event in Piazza Duomo in Milan was created to raise citizens' awareness of blood donation . It was organized by the Fedez Foundation together with Avis , Fratres , the Red Cross and other associations. But the day of solidarity soon became the stage of a controversy involving the Milanese rapper and Romano La Russa , who was present at the event together with his colleague Elena Lucchini .

When the regional councilor took the floor, Fedez left the area where the institutional speeches were being held to go and visit the mobile blood donation unit and the various stands. Regarding his reaction, he explained to journalists that «we organized this with the associations and the Municipality of Milan. I have never seen Mr. La Russa involved nor did Mrs. Lucchini who said she was thinking of organizing an event." So has the region screwed up? the journalists asked him. " You do it ," he concluded.

The response from the other party was not long in coming: « Am I in controversy with Fedez? I don't even know who he is . I am here because I was invited by blood donors and I am happy and proud to be there. I can't care about others and especially when it comes to little men", commented the councilor for Security and Civil Protection of the Lombardy Region. «What he did is worthy – he added – and I thank him in some way, but a minimum of respect for the presidents of the associations would have been appreciated because while they were talking he thought of going and taking photos with the fans». The press clarification on the singer's passing when he spoke was punctual: «I didn't even see him go but if that's the case I confirm that he is a small man , very small. His behavior was obvious. He thinks he has done a heroic act, in reality it was a sign of rudeness towards the presidents and all the associations. I thank him for his work today but he didn't behave well. He only discovered Avis today because he needed it, but there are those who have always dedicated their lives to this. It is not a gesture of love towards the donors."
