Michele Misseri will soon be free again. “Uncle Michele”, among the protagonists of the murder case of Sarah Scazzi, 15 years old, which occurred in the summer of 2010 in Avetrana, will leave Taranto prison in February where he is currently imprisoned.

Misseri was sentenced to eight years for the suppression of the corpse, but will find his freedom early thanks to good behavior and the "empty prisons" rules which allow him to benefit from a sentence reduction of over 400 days. And in March he will be able to celebrate his 70th birthday as a free man.

The body of Sarah Scazzi, after more than a month of research, was found in a well in Avetrana. The body was discovered by Michele Misseri himself, who confessed to the murder of his niece (and the sexual violence on the lifeless body) only to be later recant in the following days, confirming the investigators' suspicions about the involvement of his daughter Sabrina.

Sabrina Misseri and Cosima Serrano, wife of Michele Misseri and aunt of Sara Scazzi, were sentenced to life imprisonment for the girl's murder. In the meantime, "Uncle Michele" has changed his story once again, claiming that he was the sole perpetrator of the murder. While Sabrina and Cosima continue to insist on their innocence and declare themselves innocent of the facts.
