On social media, she posted "the iconic black flag emoticons" of ISIS and wrote "jihad (...) means more 'fight against enemies' (...) don't you want to deserve the highest level in Heaven?" And to those who told her that holy war "is only for men" she cited "the example of 'Aisha', second wife of Mohammed", made references to "suicide for terrorist purposes" and said she was an "ISIS supporter" .
This is the profile of the 19-year-old Kenyan stopped five days ago at Orio al Serio airport while she was about to board a flight to go and fight in Syria , passing through Turkey, as emerges from the order of the investigating judge of Milan Luca Milani. On social media, it is written, she showed a toy gun, which was later confiscated, and in a story on Instagram she allegedly had herself filmed while she was shooting "with an air rifle".
And the analysis revealed her contacts "with a user" in Turkey, a certain Yusif. Already on November 28, she had gone to Malpensa to ask for information to buy a ticket for Turkey, always "dressed in the niqab", which leaves only the eyes uncovered, with a "backpack" hidden "under the jacket". When her mother asked her on the phone where she had gone, she had replied: "You told me that I am not your daughter because I wear the veil?"
Then, on the 29th, she managed to get a "one-way" ticket departing the next day and final destination "Ankara", with a stopover in Istanbul. Questioned by the investigating judge yesterday, the girl said she wanted to go to Turkey to marry a 23-year-old she had met on social media. She admitted "having conservative ideas about the Islamic religion", saying she was "shocked to see the images of men and women of Muslim faith tortured and burned", where there are "wars and persecutions". She also said that in Italy it is not "possible for her to work wearing the niqab" and that this is also why she wanted to "escape". In addition, she claimed, the investigating judge summarizes, that she shares ISIS's ideas about an "armed reaction", but that she did not want to go to Syria to fight, but to "admire men and women who fight to safeguard their faith in the name of Islam".
According to the judge, the "choice to leave for war zones" was not at all "random and reckless, but " the result of agreements with representatives of the Islamic State or other terrorist associations operating in that area ", who "would have inserted and enlisted her" to make her participate in the "war".
In the order, the judge speaks of the "proselytism and mythologization of religious fundamentalism" carried out by the girl, who lived in Carugate, in the Milan area, especially on "Instagram and TikTok", increasingly praising "acts of violence against the Western world". And of her "frantic search" for contacts in the Middle East, also because "the news of the last week has highlighted how Syria today represents one of the scenarios in which terrorist groups praising Jihad are involved in a civil war aimed at destabilizing the local government". The same girl, the judge continues, often referred to "Muhajir", or "sacrifice for the Islamist cause". According to the investigating judge, she would have been "completely at the disposal of the so-called jihad". And she also showed "evident obstinacy" during the interrogation.
