The Council of Ministers has approved the law decree against juvenile crime, born after the events of Caivano and Palermo . Urgent measures have been included in the document to try to stem the unease among young people, to limit educational poverty and juvenile crime.

Among the provisions included, there are also the oral warning of the police commissioner for minors, the possibility of stopping the use of cell phones and prison for parents who do not send their children to compulsory schooling. On the other hand, the hypothesis of a restriction on access to pornographic websites, the one proposed by Minister Eugenia Roccella, has been ignored. There is not even the lowering of the age for imputability (assumed from 14 to 12 years) but it will be easier for minors to end up in prison: the sentence threshold that allows the measure to be applied has gone from 9 to 6 years of pre-trial detention.

The government has also appointed Fabio Ciciliano as commissioner for the redevelopment of Caivano, he will manage the 30 million euros provided for by the decree for the intervention plan.
