There have always been many doubts about Attilio Manca's death, ever since - on the night between 11 and 12 February 2004 - he was found lifeless in Viterbo, where the young urologist was working. Now an interception revealed by the “Antimafiaduemila” portal could lead to a turning point.

The conversation dates back to 2003: the followers of Bernardo Provenzano, at the time a fugitive, spoke of the need to "take a shower" to a doctor, without naming names, because he had denied treatment to the Cosa Nostra boss. From the reconstruction carried out, Provenzano - suffering from prostate cancer - needed a doctor and before going to the French Riviera to undergo an operation, his men had asked for the availability of a doctor, who had however refused to help them.

In the interception, contained in the file that was opened at the time by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, the voices of six or seven men are heard, including the loyal boss of the boss, Giuseppe Lo Bue. To confirm the relevance of this information is the lawyer of the dead doctor's family, Fabio Repici. For over 18 years, Attilio Manca's parents have fought to shed light on their son's suspicious death and are now considering filing a new complaint.

Missing, for family members, did not commit suicide with a heroin overdose, aggravated by taking a benzodiazepine-based psychotropic drug, but precisely because he was involved without his knowledge in the treatment of Bernardo Provenzano. Among the disputed elements, also the fact that the urologist originally from San Donà di Piave was left-handed and the two injection holes were found on the left and not the right wrist. Furthermore, there were no fingerprints on the syringes found.
