It was a real ambush, with jealousy as a motive, what led to the death in Trieste of Robert Trajkovic, 17 years old of Serbian origin.

The young man's body was found last night in a hostel in a building in via Rittmeyer in the Friulian city. The 17-year-old was strangled with a lace in the basement of the hostel, the Trieste Public Prosecutor said, and the lightning investigations immediately led to the identification of the person responsible.

It is a 21-year-old boy of Moroccan origin for whom the arrest was ordered. The interrogation could not take place immediately because the boy fell ill and was taken to hospital. Investigators overheard him this morning after his discharge, so they arrested him and took him to jail.

Tomorrow the prosecutor will formally open the file of the preliminary investigations, registering the crime of voluntary homicide.

"My son was the victim of an ambush," says Peter Trajkovic, son of the victim.

"Robert - he explains - had an appointment with his girlfriend in an accommodation facility. Her ex-boyfriend was jealous and ambushed him. Robert had warned that he was coming from the San Giacomo district. The ex-boyfriend he was with the young woman. So he got out, he would go to meet him and strangle him. There was also a Romanian with him ".

The victim's brother Christian also spoke: "Robert had disappeared since Friday, he did not answer the phone and we made appeals on social networks and local media to find him".

Christian is the eldest of four brothers: “We heard about the discovery tonight

of the body, it is a difficult time. I no longer have the strength, we have a pain that cannot be explained ".

Robert, says his father Peter, "was studying and was doing an internship".

According to family members, the girl Robert was supposed to meet is 19 years old, she is Italian and had lived for two years in Germany.
