Alessia Pifferi, the defense: «She didn't want to kill Diana, she should be acquitted»

Alessia Pifferi must be acquitted . This was asked in the speech by the lawyer defending the 37-year-old on trial for having caused her 18-month-old daughter Diana to die of starvation, leaving her alone at home for six days in her home in via Parea in Milan.

«If I had to take the black rag off my shoulders, I would tell you that Alessia Pifferi is a monster. He did a terrible, terrible thing. But we are not making moral judgments, this is about applying the law. I ask for acquittal: it is clear that he did not want to kill the little girl and he said so from the beginning ", said the lawyer Alessia Pontenani.

It is the final act of the trial in the Court of Assizes in Milan. In addition to the defense speech, the lawyers of the civil parties also spoke.

«We are faced with a chilling case, in which responsibility is clear. In this trial there is only one truth: Alessia Pifferi is guilty of the murder of little Diana. He killed his own daughter, leaving her alone for six days without water or food. She clearly knew she would die ,” said lawyer Emanuele De Mitri.

«Pifferi - added the lawyer - was a presumptuous woman. She did not ask her family for help, even though she knew that the family would help her, hiding what she was doing . Her mother Maria and her sister Viviana were in fact the only ones who gave her a hand. The mother tried in every way to support Alessia Pifferi. Although relations were tense, Viviana saw Diana's birth as a miracle. They could never have thought that Pifferi would abandon the little girl in that way."

The lawyer requested compensation of 200 thousand euros for the mother and 150 thousand euros for the sister, or a provisional amount of 100 thousand euros each .
