Accident at work: two workers with iodine burns

Serious accident at work at Bracco Imaging, a company in Cesano Maderno, in Brianza, specialized in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Two workers reported iodine burns : one, who is 52, on 90 percent of his body, the other on 10 percent, according to 118.

The two workers, both experienced, were rescued around 1.30am last night and hospitalized.

The reconstruction of what happened is being examined by the investigators, it is not clear whether the contact with iodine was caused by a malfunction of a machine or by human error.
