A victim and witness of torture by Libyan general Osama Almasri has filed a complaint with the Rome prosecutor's office for "aiding and abetting" for "the actions of Nordio, Piantedosi and Meloni" who - he says - "have evaded justice from the Libyan torturer" .
The man's name is Lam Magok Biel Ruei and he filed the document drawn up by the lawyer Francesco Romeo.
The complaint, which will soon be brought to the attention of the magistrates of Piazzale Clodio, states that " the inertia of the Minister of Justice - who could and should have requested the precautionary custody of the criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court - and the expulsion decree signed by the Minister of the Interior, with the immediate preparation of the state flight to take the wanted man back to Libya, allowed Almasri to evade arrest and return with impunity to his country of origin , thus preventing the holding of the trial against him".
The man is currently a guest at a Baobab Experience facility. According to his lawyer, "there is an official statement from the International Criminal Court dated January 22, 2025, which shows that the Italian authorities were not only duly informed of the operation of the arrest warrant , but also involved in a previous preventive consultation and coordination activity aimed precisely at ensuring the adequate reception of the Court's request and its implementation. In that same statement, it is also reported that the Italian authorities expressly asked the International Criminal Court not to comment publicly on Almasri's arrest, thus demonstrating that they were aware of it."
The Prime Minister and Ministers Nordio and Piantedosi, together with Undersecretary Mantovano, are already under investigation for embezzlement and aiding and abetting in relation to the Almasri case.
"I was a victim and witness to these atrocities, horrors that I have already reported to the International Criminal Court, but the Italian Government has made me a victim a second time , nullifying the possibility of obtaining justice both for all the people, like me, who survived his violence, and for those he killed and for those who will continue to suffer torture and abuse at his hands or under his command," the man says.
"Minister Nordio's silence - adds Lam Magok - was clearly functional to Almasri's release. I decided to file the complaint in the belief that Italy can still be defined as a state of law, where the law is equal for everyone , without being suspended or subject to exceptions, and where people defined as dangerous because of the crimes they have committed are handed over to justice and not conveniently returned to the place where they have committed and will continue to commit atrocities".
