Dressed as Roman centurions or gladiators, they approached tourists in front of the Colosseum in Rome, offering themselves for picturesque souvenir photos. But they did it aggressively, even making threats.

And then the requested amounts: up to 40 euros for a shot. If someone refused to pay, they also risked being beaten up.

The State Police put an end to the bad habit, at the end of an investigation coordinated by the Capitoline Public Prosecutor's Office.

At the end of the investigations, which began after the tourists' complaints, three men ended up in handcuffs, who will have to answer for extortion charges.

Two ended up under house arrest, the prison doors opened for the third.
