Investigations are underway to shed full light on the death of a one and a half year old child who died in the Rimini hospital after having risked suffocating from a bite of food.

According to local press reports, on 30 November the little boy was having lunch with his parents, who live in Faenza, when suddenly a piece of food went sideways .

The parents contacted the emergency services and the child was rushed to the emergency room. Complications arose after hospitalization and the little patient was transferred to the intensive care unit, where, however, his conditions deteriorated, until he died.

The Public Prosecutor of Rimini has therefore launched an investigation to establish the exact dynamics of the clinical facts that led to the child's death.
