He was found lifeless in his mother's womb at the SS. Annunziata hospital in Taranto, on the night between November 24th and 25th.

The Local Health Authority (ASL), in a statement, immediately clarified that this was a prenatal death, during a full-term pregnancy. The case involves a couple from Pulsano.

The woman, hospitalized since November 20th and in her 39th week plus five days of pregnancy, was awaiting the onset of labor. The fetal death was confirmed at 10:30 PM on November 24th. Shortly thereafter, at 1:46 AM, doctors delivered the baby by cesarean section.

Around 3:30 a.m., the judicial authorities seized the paper and electronic medical records, launching an investigation. The Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation to determine the cause of death.

The Special Commissioner of the Taranto Local Health Authority, Vito Gregorio Colacicco, expressed his "condolences and deepest condolences to the family," noting that pregnancy monitoring had revealed no warning signs. In many cases, he noted, between 25% and 50%, the cause remains unknown and falls under Sudden Intrauterine Unexplained Death Syndrome (SIUDS). The health authority has initiated internal investigations and pledged full cooperation with investigators.

Pulsano's mayor, Pietro D'Alfonso, also publicly expressed the entire community's sympathy to the parents, speaking of "shock and sorrow" and expressing his hope that the judiciary will "promptly clarify the causes of this inexplicably tragic event."
