The 20-year-old man of North African origins who was admitted to Lecco hospital after being stabbed in the city center during the night between Saturday and Sunday has died.

Her alleged attacker, a 25-year-old man, arrested by the Carabinieri shortly after the incident for serious injuries, is now charged with murder. The 20-year-old was rescued in critical condition and admitted to the nearby Manzoni Hospital with a critical prognosis. Despite emergency treatment, he died.

The Carabinieri who responded shortly after the incident also recovered a knife, believed to be the weapon with which the young man had been injured. The incident occurred near Lecco Town Hall and the train station, following an argument between several people.
