Work, tragic Thursday: four workers died in a few hours
In addition to the businessman crushed by an excavator in Tortolì, other victims in Ischia, Salerno and Taranto
Four tragedies at work in Italy just a few hours apart.
One was registered in Tortolì, Sardinia, where an entrepreneur , Adriano Balloi, 61, was killed by an excavator.
Other dramatic incidents in Salerno and Ischia: the victims are Pierino Oronzo, who was burned while he was carrying out work to lay a sheath on a building; and Vittorio Tommasone, 59, fell off a scaffold.
Finally, another victim in Puglia: Luigi Aprile, 51, originally from Massafra, in the province of Taranto. And the tragedy occurred in Taranto, when the worker - crane operator employed by the Massucco company that deals with logistics, earth moving and operating machinery rental - died in an accident that took place at the company's headquarters, on the Appia state road.
According to an initial reconstruction of the incident, the victim was moving a crane from a truck, when the machinery tilted causing the worker to lose his balance as he fell from a height of 10 meters.
The 51-year-old reportedly banged his head violently on the pavement. Then relief efforts were triggered, but unfortunately there was nothing for the man to do.
