The world must not abandon Ukraine and continue to support it against the Russian invasion in defense of the UN charter, world order and democracy.

The appeal was launched today at the 78th UN general assembly by Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky, the latter making his first speech in person in front of an audience of 150 Heads of State and Government but in which the leaders of China, Russia, France, the United Kingdom and India.

Zelensky, in a green military polo shirt, is betting everything on a "just peace" but in the meantime is asking for new aid and new weapons, as he will also do on Thursday in his (second) visit to the White House and Congress. “You can't believe the devil, ask Yevgeny Prigozhin,” he says, they launch an appeal to act “united against the aggressor” and denounce the “genocide of Ukrainian children”. Then he announces that Ukraine is preparing a world peace summit to which he wants to invite all world leaders "against Russian aggression".

Moscow immediately took aim at Zelensky's visit: "It is obvious that the beggar employee of Kiev is still going to beg for money and weapons from his American masters," attacked the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, shortly after the announcement of the "soon" delivery of American Abrams tanks to Kiev.

Joe Biden urged the world to stand by Kiev: «Russia - he observed in the only moment in which he raised the tone of his voice - believes that the world will get tired and will allow Ukraine to be brutalized without consequences. But I ask you this: if we abandon the fundamental principles of the UN Charter to appease an aggressor, can any member state feel confident that it is protected? If we allow Ukraine to be dismembered, will the independence of any nation be guaranteed? The answer is no. We must oppose this blatant aggression today to deter other potential attackers tomorrow."
