"We are ready to welcome anything that can bring the end of the conflict in Ukraine closer and Russia's achievement of all the set goals."

This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov regarding yesterday's phone call, the first since the beginning of the war, between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky .

An interview in which the Chinese leader allegedly reiterated Beijing's willingness to mediate between the parties to reach a solution to the "crisis".

Meanwhile, a new plan arrives from the EU to speed up the supply of ammunition to Ukraine. This was announced by the EU Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, at a press conference.

"We are working on a plan to increase our capabilities and be certain of being able to deliver what we have promised to Ukraine", highlighted Breton, underlining that "respecting the commitments made is essential, given that unfortunately the war continues".

"I am confident - he added -, we have solid and strong foundations, in the east as in the west of Europe, including Italy, Spain and Greece".
