US and UK give green light to sanctions against Iran
Washington and London "strike" individuals and companies linked to the production of the drones used last April 13 to launch the attack against Israel
The United States has announced new sanctions against Iran.
«We are committed to the defense of Israel, our soldiers and our partners in the region. And we will not hesitate to take all necessary actions" against attacks by Tehran and its allies, President Joe Biden said in a statement.
To "hit" Tehran after the attack on Israel in recent days, the US Treasury has specifically targeted 16 individuals and two entities that allow the production of Iranian drones , including the types of engines that power the Shahed variants, used precisely on April 13 to launch raids against the Jewish state .
Also targeted are 5 companies that supply components for steel production to Khuzestan Steel Company (KSC), one of the largest Iranian steel producers, or purchase its finished steel products. Three branches of the Iranian car manufacturer Bahman Group were also hit, which allegedly materially supported the Pasdaran.
In addition to the USA, Great Britain has also decided to proceed with sanctioning individuals or entities indicated as being involved in the production of drones for the Iranian arsenal.
