UN, Security Council approves resolution for aid to Gaza
Thirteen votes in favor. United States and Russia abstained. Meanwhile, Israel is negotiating with Hamas for a new truce aimed at the release of the hostagesThe UN Security Council has approved the resolution in favor of the United Arab Emirates which provides for more aid to Gaza. The resolution was approved with 13 votes in favor, zero votes against and two abstentions, that of the United States and Russia.
However, the resolution makes no mention of a truce, even though negotiations for a new ceasefire continue between Israel and Hamas.
According to some media reports, Israeli officials are discussing other proposals for
convince the Palestinian militiamen to a negotiation that leads to a new exchange of hostages.
One of the possibilities studied - and which Hamas is apparently reflecting on - is, in particular, that of a truce of about 2 weeks in exchange for dozens of hostages.
