The G7 heads of state and government, meeting in Evian, said they were "united in our unwavering support for Ukraine in defending its freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity" , adding that they had "agreed to increase the provision of additional air defense capabilities, systems and interceptors, as well as long-range capabilities".

This is stated in the joint statement on geopolitical issues released at Evian. "We are committed," the statement continues, "to increasing pressure on Russia's war economy . To this end, we will strengthen our sanctions, including those on the oil and gas sectors."

Regarding the Middle East , the G7 leaders "welcome the announcement of the agreement between the United States and Iran, reached under the firm leadership of President Donald Trump, with the support of the mediating countries" and support its implementation "ready to contribute".

"We agreed," the G7 statement added, "that the multinational, independent defense initiative led by France and the United Kingdom can play an important role in facilitating the resumption of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz by protecting merchant vessels, reassuring commercial shipping operators, and supporting the verification of the clearance of all mines."
