Russian President Vladimir Putin this morning visited Russian military bases in the occupied Kherson and Lugansk regions of Ukraine .

This was reported - as reported by the Ria Novosti agency - by the press service of the Russian head of state. “Vladimir Putin listened to reports from commanders, colonels and other military leaders,” the report said.

This is the second official visit of the Russian leader to the occupied regions since the invasion launched on 24 February 2022. The previous one took place in the city of Mariupol (conquered by the Russians on 20 May 2022) on 19 March.

Meanwhile, concern is growing in Moscow in view of the Ukrainian military preparations aimed at reconquering the areas occupied by the Russians. An important counteroffensive that intends not only to free the regions occupied in the last 14 months of war, but also to regain the Crimea and the areas of Donbass lost in the 2014 conflict.

According to experts, the attack could take place on several fronts simultaneously, with the territory south of the city of Zaporizhzhia at the center of attention of the Ukrainian army to cut Russian links with the Crimean peninsula.
