Donald Trump is open to using US jets as a security measure to end the Russia-Ukraine war . In an interview with the Daily Caller, the American president stated that he is open to using American aircraft.

"Maybe," the US president explained, "we'll do something. I'd like to see a solution. They're not our soldiers, but every week, five to seven thousand of them are killed, mostly young people. If I could stop all this and fly a plane every now and then, we'd help them."

Trump then spoke of a "very good" relationship he's had with Vladimir Putin over the years. "That's why I really thought we'd find a solution. I would have loved for there to be one," the American president explained, referring to the Alaska summit. "Maybe," he added, referring to the Russians and Ukrainians, "they need to fight a little longer."

The tycoon then added that he considers a Putin-Zelensky bilateral meeting unlikely at the moment, while a trilateral meeting in his presence could be possible.

"A trilateral could happen. I don't know about a bilateral, but a trilateral will happen. But, you know, sometimes people aren't ready," the American president said.

Meanwhile, investigations into the death of the former speaker of the Ukrainian parliament in Lviv continue: the police are following the Russian lead.
