Forty-one people died in the fire of a Coptic church in Cairo . This was announced by the ecclesiastical authorities.

The fire, the cause of which is not yet known, broke out in the Abu Sifine church in Imbaba, in the governorate of Giza . This was stated by the spokesman of the Ministry of Health and Population, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, quoted by the Egyptian news agency Mena.

The minister also ordered all health services and care to be provided to those injured in the fire.

According to the spokesman for the ministry, 55 were injured and were transported to hospitals in Imbaba and Al Agouza. The state of alert was declared in hospitals in Cairo and Giza.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Attorney General, Hamada Al-Sawi, has ordered the formation of a large team of inspectors to investigate the stake.

The investigators immediately went to the scene of the accident and started the investigation.
