At least 18 flood victims in Brazil, after 58 cities are grappling with the devastation caused by torrential rains.

A real emergency, so much so that tens of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes.

The latest victim is a 60-year-old man drowned in a river in the southern municipality of Aurelino Leal.

In addition to these 18 deaths, there are two missing, 19,580 displaced and 16,001 in search of shelter, which brings to about 35,000 the number of people who have left their homes, according to the Civil Protection of Bahia, one of the most affected areas of the Country, where Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro also visited.

In total, nearly half a million people are affected in some way by the exceptional weather conditions.
