Tired of paying protection money to the local drug cartel, they killed eight drug traffickers with machetes on a football pitch.

It happens in central Mexico, in the town of Texcaltitlan.

The clash caused the death of 11 people, eight of whom belonged to the Familia Michoacana cartel.

According to what was reported by the Mexican press, the inhabitants of the town had been summoned to the sports field to pay the weekly fee to the local criminals. After getting out of their pick-ups, the narcos were attacked by the crowd with stones, machete blows and fists.

The police arrived at the scene of the massacre shortly afterwards and are reconstructing what happened through videos posted on social media.
