The Food and Drug Administration (Fda), the US drug control agency, has authorized the further injection of the Pfizer vaccine for certain categories of people: over 65s and fragile patients, i.e. at high risk of contracting severe forms of Covid-19 or serious complications.

The agency followed the recommendations given in recent days by its committee of independent experts. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the US federal agency for disease prevention, should also speak today.

The same one that, according to the New York Times, a few days ago in a study had shown that the effectiveness of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against Covid hospitalizations drops significantly after four months from the second dose. According to CDC Pfizer is 91% effective in preventing hospitalizations for up to 4 months after the second dose, then the effectiveness drops to 77%.
