The US sends planes and a warship to defend the Emirates

To support the United Arab Emirates, the United States has decided to deploy a destroyer equipped with guided missiles and state-of-the-art fighter aircraft in the area.

A deployment of forces aimed at helping the ally after the missile attacks launched last month by the Yemeni rebels.

This was announced by the American embassy in the country.

The US destroyer will cross between Goldo Persico, the Gulf of Oman and the Gulf of Aden.

The decision to "assist the UAE against the current threat" follows a telephone conversation between Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the embassy said.
