The Ukrainian army entered the city of Kherson after the withdrawal of the Russian occupation troops.

According to reports from CNN, Kiev's troops were welcomed by residents in celebration. Citizens flocked to the central square of the city, waving blue-yellow flags to celebrate the liberation.

Some - some videos show - even climbed the monuments by launching slogans against Russia, such as "Death to the enemy!" and “Glory to Ukraine !”.

Other videos show some cars whizzing through the streets, completely cleared of traffic, with the Ukrainian flag out the windows.

"The Russian withdrawal from Kherson is an" important victory for Ukraine, " Kyiv Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba wrote on Twitter.

Vladimir Putin's spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, on the other hand, said in these hours that the Kremlin does not consider the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kherson to be "humiliation".

"There are a lot of different experts, some say it was like that, others say other things. We don't want to comment on any of these things," Peskov said, quoted by the BBC.
