While tomorrow, 9 March, about 60 Ukrainian refugees will arrive in Cagliari - mostly children and young people between 3 and 17 years old, accompanied by their mothers -, a new humanitarian mission is ready to leave with a load of medicines and basic necessities. under the organization of the Anas Health Sardinia Network.

In the capital, at piazzale Marco Polo, the refugees will be welcomed by the regional councilor for tourism, Gianni Chessa: "Once again, Sardinia concretely demonstrates solidarity and closeness towards a people who are suffering - said the representative of the Giunta Solinas - In this case, the commitment of the Sardinians is in favor of the Ukrainian community, perfectly integrated throughout the island. The organizational machinery of the Region is also working hard to support those who, victims of a heavy war emergency, he needs peace of mind and assistance. In the hope that diplomacy can put an end to the conflict as soon as possible ".

Meanwhile, on Saturday the new caravan will leave Olbia towards Livorno and will return to the island, once the mission is complete, with other people fleeing the war in Ukraine: "At the coordination center at the railway post-work in Cagliari we are collecting the material to bring - says the responsible for the mission, Claudio Cugusi - and also the willingness of families to host the displaced ".
