The war in Iran has so far cost the United States $25 billion, largely due to the tens of thousands of bombs and missiles used. Defense Department Comptroller Jay Hurst said this in a congressional hearing. This is the first time the Pentagon has publicly provided a cost estimate for Operation Epic Fury. "Most of this," Hurst explained, "is earmarked for munitions, but obviously some is earmarked for maintenance and equipment replacement."
Meanwhile, the wait for the resumption of negotiations in Pakistan continues, and the venomous verbal attacks between Washington and Tehran continue. Following US President Donald Trump's latest provocations, Iran has reportedly announced, as some media reports, that it may soon undertake "concrete and unprecedented military action" in response to the US naval blockade of Iranian ports . Citing a "senior security source," state broadcaster Press TV stated that Iran's failure to act against the blockade was an attempt to "give diplomacy a chance." However, the US "should soon expect a different kind of response to the ongoing naval blockade" if Iran's conditions are rejected.
