Buckingham Palace announcement: it will take place on May 6, 2023
The date of the coronation of King Charles III is official.
The son of Queen Elizabeth, already proclaimed , will be solemnly crowned in Westminster Abbey together with Queen consort Camilla on 6 May 2023 .
This was announced by Buckingham Palace.
Eight months after the death of the sovereign, who died on 8 September at the age of 96 , the religious ceremony will be led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby .
A tradition, that of the coronations of British monarchs in Westminster Abbey, which has been going on for 900 years.
