The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has strongly criticized the growing climate of morbid attention surrounding Princess Kate's health conditions , lashing out in particular against conspiracy theories spread on social media .

This is " old-fashioned village gossip " according to Welby, who in a radio interview strenuously defended the privacy of the wife of the heir to the throne William , underlining how she should be left alone in her recovery after the abdominal operation suffered in January.

“People, without any difference, should be allowed to get sick, to undergo an operation, whatever it is and to live their lives in peace without everyone asking them to prove something every other day,” the spiritual leader further said of the Anglican church.

Welby's stance comes after days of media revelations, starting with the alleged attempted intrusion into Kate's electronic medical record by three healthcare workers at the London Clinic - where the princess had undergone surgery - who were subjected to an investigation internally by the hospital facility.

The video was then published which showed the future queen consort in public for the first time after the operation , while smiling and in good shape, even if she had lost weight, she was shopping in a typical products shop in Windsor with William, the video then ended at the center of unlikely theories including that of the use of a double to impersonate Kate.
