Syria: Suicide bombing in Damascus church kills at least 20

Suicide bomber blew himself up after opening fire on worshippers during mass. At least 20 people were killed. The number of injured was unknown.

The bomb partially destroyed the Mar Elias church in the Dwelah neighborhood, home to a large Christian community in the Syrian capital, causing an unknown number of deaths and injuries, as well as material damage, international media reported.

Images circulating on social media show the devastated interior of the church and the bodies of several victims inside, while ambulances rushed to the scene to evacuate the injured.
