Today is the end of an era of commercial aviation. Indeed, Boeing ceased production of the B747, the Jumbo Jet, until the advent of the Airbus A380, the largest passenger aircraft in the world.

Boeing put it out of production after 54 years of operation. No commercial aircraft has been in production for that long. Since its first flight in 1969, the Boeing 747 revolutionized air travel as the first wide-body (wide-body, two-aisle) airliner and was a cornerstone of the American aviation industry for five decades.

The Jumbo Jet has carried billions of passengers to every corner of the world.

We will still see it flying but more and more often as a cargo plane for the transport of goods until it disappears.
