Slovakia, the retired attacker: "I shot the prime minister because we have different political ideas"

“I did it because I disagree with the government's policies.” This is how Juraj Cintula, 71, would have motivated his gunshot attack against the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico , in his first interrogation before the police.

Cintula, a left-wing militant with a passion for poetry , waited for Fico, leader of the ruling populist party, pro-Russian and considered close to the Hungarian leader Viktor Orban, in front of a building in the city of Handlova, near Bratislava , where the program was a government meeting.
