Alarm in Paris, where at least three deaths are recorded following the explosion of numerous gunshots. There are also several injured.

The episode took place in rue d'Enghien, in the tenth arrondissement of the French capital, a district in the center that includes the Grand Rex and the Saint-Denis gate.

A man opened fire on several people in the Ahmet-Kaya Kurdish cultural center at 16 rue d'Enghien.

It is a 69-year-old who was arrested , French police sources say: he is a pensioner of the SNCF, the railway company where he worked as a driver. He too was injured and is in hospital, awaiting questioning. Last year he attacked a migrant camp, also in Paris, with a saber, causing several injuries .

He was indicted for attempted murder with the racist aggravating circumstance, the investigators question the reasons why he was currently on the loose. Another precedent dates back to 2016, when he was indicted for attempted murder .

People are in shock: « Seven, eight shots in the street, it's total panic. We were locked inside ,” says a local shopkeeper.

The Paris prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into "murder, voluntary homicide and aggravated violence".
