Extremely violent clashes continue in Gaza between the Israeli armed forces and Hamas militiamen.

The Hamas Ministry of Health has announced that at least 50 victims have been caused by air raids in the Jewish state on the Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza. Dozens of people were also apparently injured and dozens more, Palestinian sources say, were injured.

It was, adds the Hamas Ministry of Health, a "hateful attack that affected a large area of houses".

The offensive in the Strip also claims victims among the ranks of the Israeli army. Two very young soldiers from Tel Aviv died during operations in Gaza: they were both part of the Givati Brigade and their names were Roei Wolf (20 years old) and Lavi Lipshitz (20 years old).

These are the first two soldiers killed since the start of Israeli operations that we know of.
